In the range of Cressi regulators, Airtech is the TOP of the line model. It comes with traditionally sized 2nd stage casing and takes advantage of all the most modern technology to offer the best in all situations. The downstream regulating system has a very light piston made from technopolymers, and is pneumatically balanced to guarantee constant performance, irrespective of the depth or the pressure in the tank.
2nd STAGE
The Cressi-Sub Airtech AC10 has a dual regulation system: an upper deviator that acts on the Venturi effect and a side knob to regulate inhalation effort. The size of the 2nd stage has no effect on the weight, which is very light because of the use of special technopolymers and titanium inserts.
1st STAGE
The Cressi-Sub Airtech regulator comes with the AC10 balanced piston 1st stage which is the latest version of the Cressi balanced piston model, manufactured for many years and highly appreciated for its exceptionally durable and simple characteristics. Over the years it has undergone constant development combined with a considerable increase in performance. It has a swivel head with some 5 low pressure hoses, a sintered filter and the really handy Cressi system for external calibration of the intermediate pressure. It is supplied in the 3 versions: INT, 200 and 300 bar DIN connections.
Airtech encompasses all the most important innovations available on the market and is a top of the line regulator in terms of performance, robustness, manufacturing simplicity and ease of maintenance.
The 2nd stage has traditional dimensions so as to be able to house a generously sized lever to the advantage of reduced breathing effort. It can be adjusted by a special knob that acts directly on the piston spring and not on the counter-spring, like other regulators. So the very wide-ranging and effective regulation can easily eliminate a slight drawing in of air caused by wear and tear of the rubber seat. The regulating system is protected by a double seal and is completely watertight (Cressi exclusive), providing very smooth rotation even in the long-term.
The poppet is made from ultralight technopolymers and is pneumatically balanced, a fundamental feature for constant performance that is not even slightly affected by the depth or the air-pressure in the tank.
A lever that acts as a flow deflector, situated in the upper part of the casing makes it possible to adjust the Venturi effect. When it is moved to (-) position it acts as pre-dive, for water to enter and for the initial phases of the dive, and when it is moved to (+) the regulator can then develop maximum performance.
The purge valve comes with two side protections to prevent water seepage in the event of side current or sudden movements of the head.
The first stage is the renowned Cressi AC10 balanced piston model. It can be supplied with international yoke or with 200 or 300 bar DIN connections. This balanced piston first stage means performance remains constant, irrespective of depth and pressure from the tanks. With the continuous reviews and improvements over the years all the air passages inside the first stage have been completely redesigned and considerably increased so as to give the excellent performance that AC10 offers today.
Alongside this excellent performance, the AC10 boasts simple mechanics, resistance to wear and tear and requires so little upkeep that it has become a product with legendary reliability.
It has some 5 low-pressure ports located right around a swivel head, which guarantees rational hose positioning on any valve.
We must also point out the quick and really handy external system to regulate intermediate pressure, which can be calibrated in a few seconds with a normal Allen key and the extremely powerful sintered filter system to filter air from the tanks.
