The 2nd stage is user adjustable. made from brass for soft touch operation.
Exhalation is controlled by an oval exhaust diaphragm which opens with radius bends to create a tighter seal. This feature also allows for easier exhalation over the round style exhaust.

Good entry level reg, 10/1/2006

This is the first reg I have owned. It breathes a little wet when I tilt my head a certain way, but that minor inconvience was worth the savings- especially since I didn't nkow how much I would be diving. I have put 60 dives on this reg in the last year and it has held up fine.
